“Limey” started flying with the British RAF as a cadet at the age of 13, flew his first jet at 17 and achieved his goal of becoming an instructor at 22.

He has over 1000 hours in formation and holds an ATP, Low Level Aerobatics waivers for both solo and formation aerobatics, tail wheel ratings, as well as a¬†helicopter license and FAST Lead certificate. “Limey” now has over 1000 hours on the Yak 52, having first bought one in the UK in 2000 and always regretted selling it – he bought another after moving to SoCal and joined the Red Eagles in 2011.

“Limey” also instructs and displays vintage first generation 1950’s and 60’s jet fighters such as the de Havilland Vampire and Venom.
